Shota Aizawa | Quirk, profile, special moves, and famous lines compilation
He is the homeroom teacher of Class 1-A in the U.A. High School hero course. His Quirk, “Erasure,” has the limitation that its effect is canceled when he blinks, but he compensates for this weakness with his fighting skills using Binding Cloth and strategic thinking in combat.
He is often misunderstood as a cold-hearted person who lacks affection for his students. However, his actual principles are based on thorough rationalism. He sometimes uses harsh words or “rational lies” to instill in his students the “resolve to be realistic heroes.”
Nevertheless, what he values most is the growth of his students. Contrary to his cold exterior, he is depicted thinking about educational policies even on holidays and worrying about his students’ futures more than anyone else.
He is also an alumnus of U.A. High School and was a classmate of Present Mic and Shirakumo Oboro. Their friendship from their student days continues to this day, and the episode in which Present Mic gave him the hero name “Eraser Head” is famous. Also, Midnight was one of his seniors, and she is one of the reasons he decided to walk the path of a teacher.

Quirk: Erasure
A Quirk that temporarily nullifies the Quirk of the person he sees. While he has the target in sight, the target cannot use their Quirk. The effect is interrupted by blinking or closing his eyelids, so he suffers from the burden of constantly keeping his eyes open and dryness (dry eye). It can only nullify activation-type Quirks, and has no effect on permanent Quirks such as those of the Heteromorphic type.
Special moves
・Binding Cloth
He uses a flexible Binding Cloth to move and restrain opponents. It has a special structure in which special alloy steel wires are woven into carbon fiber, so its strength is outstanding.
